About the Role
Based at our Head Office in Yatala, the Group Parts Manager will play a key strategic role in overseeing parts operations across the business. You will ensure all departments meet budget and profit targets, deliver exceptional customer service, and maintain high operational standards. This role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and excellent relationship-building skills. Some travel will be required to visit and support our branch network.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support and advise Parts Managers to promote and market Brown and Hurley parts.
- Increase market share, add value across departments, retain customers, and explore new opportunities.
- Assist in developing and achieving annual budgets, analysing inventory data, and monitoring stock levels.
- Identify performance improvement opportunities and liaise with management regarding capital expenditure.
- Oversee stocktake processes, inventory management, and ordering procedures.
- Ensure pricing, vendor relations, and reporting processes are accurate and efficient.
- Implement group-wide initiatives such as bulk buying and new model part management.
- Manage and maximise the productivity of the Group Parts Trainer.
- Coach, mentor, and develop Parts Managers, including succession planning and talent development.
- Optimise stock distribution and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Seek new products and oversee group-wide purchasing for efficiency and compliance.
- Promote teamwork and a company-first culture among Parts Managers.
- Represent the group at manufacturer and supplier meetings, conferences, and customer events.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Parts Manager, preferably in the Truck or Agricultural industry.
- Strong leadership, advisory, and relationship-building skills with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Solid business acumen in parts management, supply chain, inventory control, or procurement.
- Experience with automotive parts inventory systems, DMS, ERP platforms, and data analysis.
- Ability to analyse large datasets, identify trends, forecast demand, and translate insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in developing dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
- Knowledge of automotive service workflows, parts lifecycle, and supplier performance metrics.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and process improvement mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and ability to prioritise multiple responsibilities.
